"I was there"

This is the poem that I am thinking about using as Josh's final message to his wife. Comments anyone?
"I was there"

I was there when you needed me
I picked you up and carried you home
  brushing away the tears as we went.

"I'm scared," you whispered
I couldn't help but smile, gently kissing
  the tears away.

"I'll never let you go," I said as
  the light faded from your eyes.

I laid you down, beneath the tree
  in the cold earth, forever more.

Random side taking over me.

I decided today that I wanted to write a poem.. so here it is. Enjoy!


I love you
  though I don't always show it.
I love you
  though you don't always know it.
I love you
  no matter what happens.
    No matter where we go,
    what we do,
    who we end up with;
      I love you.
